Portfolio Objective
The goal of this portfolio is to seek the highest current income with securities issued by the United States Treasuries. These securities should provide tax exempt interest income with consistent stability of capital and high liquidity for investors.
Fixed Income Portfolio Strategies
This portfolio aims to provide current income by investing in tax exempt securities issued from the Department of Treasury. Matured securities are reinvested with the highest rate possible for investors. This portfolio is actively managed as the Federal Reserve announces its decisions.
Rising Interest Rates
During periods of rising interest rates, securities with shorter duration tends to follow the interest rate more closely. These are the ideal securities to hold for earning higher interest income as the rate increase. A strategy known as "Laddering" will help minimize exposure to interest rate fluctuations. Declining Interest Rates
Securities with longer maturity does not follow the interest rate as the short term treasury does, and are beneficial for investors to maintain higher income when anticipating periods of falling interest rates. These securities may provide the potential of capital appreciate as interest rates declines. |
